6. Cookies
6.1 General information about cookies
We may use cookies, tags, web pixels and similar technologies to automatically collect information about our services. Cookies or tags are codes that allow our technology partners to collect information that would not normally identify you directly. If required by law, we will ask for your consent before using cookies or other tracking technologies. The information in this section describes our use of cookies and your ability to control the use of cookies for advertising-related purposes. As described below, we will not use cookies or similar tracking technologies to process your personal data unless they are absolutely necessary for the cookie or you opt-in (i.e., give your consent) through the use of a cookie banner or consent manager on our website. You can withdraw your consent or update your preferences at any time by clicking on the “Manage Cookies” link in the footer of the Website.
6.2 Cookies.
Cookies are small web files that a website or its provider transfers to your device's hard drive through your web browser to enable the website's or provider's system to recognize your browser and remember certain information.
Generally, we use first- and third-party cookies for the following purposes: to make our Services work properly; to provide you with a secure browsing experience during your use of our Services; to collect passive information about your use of our Services; to measure how you interact with our marketing campaigns; to help us improve our Services; and to memorize your preferences for your convenience.
We use the following types of cookies on our Services:
Categorically Necessary Cookies These cookies are critical because they enable you to use our Services. For example, strictly necessary cookies allow you to access secure areas of our Services. Without these cookies, some services would not be available. These cookies do not collect information about you for marketing purposes. These cookies are essential to the proper functioning of our Services and cannot be disabled.
Functionality Cookies We use functionality cookies to remember your choices so that we can customize our Services to provide you with enhanced features and personalized content. For example, these cookies may be used to remember your name or preferences for our services. We do not use functional cookies to target you with online marketing. While it is possible to disable these cookies, this may result in reduced functionality during your use of our Services.
Performance or Analytics Cookies These cookies collect passive information about how you use our Services, including the web pages you visit and the links you click. We use the information collected by these cookies to improve and optimize our Services. We do not use these cookies to target you with online marketing. You can disable these cookies as described below.
Advertising or Targeting Cookies These cookies are used to make advertising messages more relevant to you. They perform functions such as preventing the same ads from appearing over and over again, ensuring that ads are correctly displayed to advertisers, and in some cases selecting ads based on your interests. Our third-party advertising partners may use these cookies to build profiles of your interests and deliver relevant advertisements on other websites. You may disable these cookies as described below.
6.3 Your Choices
You can manage your browser cookies through your browser settings, and the “Help” feature on most browsers will tell you how to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to have your browser notify you when you receive a new cookie, how to block cookies, and when cookies expire. If you block all cookies on your browser, neither we nor third parties will transfer cookies to your browser. However, if you do so, you may need to manually adjust some preferences each time you visit the Site and certain features and services may not be available.
6.4 Web Pixels.
In order to understand how well our marketing campaigns or other goals for the Services are performing, we sometimes use conversion pixels, which trigger a small line of code to tell us when you clicked on a particular button or arrived at a particular page (e.g., a thank you page) once you have completed the process of subscribing to one of our Services or filled out one of our forms). We also use web pixels to analyze usage patterns of our Services. Using a pixel allows us to record that a particular device, browser or application has visited a particular web page.
6.5 Analytics.
We may use third-party service providers to monitor and analyze usage of our Services. Currently, we use Google Analytics. Google Analytics is a web analytics service used to track and report website traffic. For more information about Google's privacy practices, please visit Google's Privacy and Terms page: https: //policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en . The Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Plugin enables visitors to prevent their data from being collected and used by Google Analytics at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
6.6 Behavioral Remarketing [If you use Google Ads, Bing Ads, FB Ads, please retain this paragraph. ]
We also use remarketing services to advertise to you on third party websites after you visit our Services. For this purpose, visitors are grouped according to certain actions on our Services (e.g. duration of visit). This allows us to understand your preferences and show you personalized ads, even if you are currently browsing another website that is also part of the Google Ad Network.
We use the following tools and services for these purposes:
Google Ads remarketing service provided by Google. You can opt out by visiting the Google Ads settings page: https: //www.google.com/settings/ads.
If Google Ads aims to collect personal data, the data controller will be Google Ireland Ltd. of Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
Bing Ads is a service operated by Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, One Microsoft Place, South County Business Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18, Ireland. Please read Microsoft's Privacy Statement for more information about how Microsoft handles your information https://privacy.microsoft.com/en-US/ . When you visit our website through advertisements on Bing Ads, a cookie is set on your computer and our website also integrates a generic event tracking tag. This code, in conjunction with the cookie, stores data about site usage, such as the length of time spent on the site, the areas visited, and the advertisements used to access the site. In addition, Microsoft may track your usage patterns on multiple electronic devices through what is known as cross-device tracking. The information collected is transmitted to Microsoft servers located in the United States. If Bing Ads is designed to collect personal data, cookie banners on our Services will provide you with the opportunity to consent to Bing Ads.
Facebook Ads. Through Facebook Business Tools, we may show you interest-based ads when you use Facebook. To modify your preferences or turn off the personalization of ads served by Facebook, you can visit Facebook's Advertising Preferences in addition to the “Your Choices” section below. We do not share any of your personal information with Facebook. We may also show ads to audiences with similar characteristics to you. For this purpose, lists of email addresses are irreversibly encrypted by hashing and uploaded or transmitted from our site, and Facebook matches the hashed data with its own users, generates similar audiences, and removes the uploaded lists. We do not have access to the identity of anyone in the “similar” audience unless they choose to click on one of our advertisements.
6.7 Other Tracking Technologies.
We may also use tracking technologies to collect “clickstream” data, such as the domain name of the service that provides you with access to the Internet, the type of your device, the IP address used to connect your computer to the Internet, the type and version of your browser, the operating system and platform, the average amount of time spent on our Website, the pages viewed, content searched, length of visit and other relevant statistics, and to assign a unique identifier to the device or other credentials you use to access the Site for the same purpose.
Pages on our websites may also use Java scripts, which are snippets of code embedded in various parts of websites and applications that facilitate various operations, including speeding up the refresh of certain features or monitoring the use of various online components; entity tags, which are a mechanism of HTTP code that allows for storing or “caching” portions of a website's content in your browser. “part of a website to improve website performance; and HTML5 local storage, which allows website data to be stored or ‘cached’ in the browser so that it can be stored and retrieved in an HTML5 page when the website is revisited.
6.8 Do Not Track.
Some Internet browsers (e.g., Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari) have the ability to transmit “Do Not Track” or “DNT” signals. Because a uniform standard for “DNT” signals has not yet been adopted, our Website does not currently process or respond to “DNT” signals.
6.9 Location Information.
You may adjust your device settings to deny certain websites or mobile applications access to location information by (a) disabling location services in your device settings; (b) changing the relevant preferences and permissions in your mobile device or browser settings; and (c) changing your browser settings.
7. Transmission of data to third parties
7.1 Transfers only permitted by law
We only transfer your data as permitted by German or European law. We work particularly closely with certain service providers, for example in the area of customer service (e.g. SHOPLINE/facebook/google), technical service providers (e.g. SHOPLINE/facebook/google) or logistics companies (e.g. DHL or GLS). These service providers can usually only process your data on our behalf under special conditions. When we use them to process orders, the service providers are only entitled to access your data to the extent and for the time necessary to provide the relevant services. If you make a purchase with one of our partners, we will forward specific shopping data about you to that partner (e.g. your name and shipping address) so that the partner can send you the ordered goods.
7.2 Technical Service Providers
We work with technical service providers in order to be able to offer our services. These service providers include, for example, [SHOPLINE /facebook/google ]. If they process your data outside of the EU, this may mean that your data will be transferred to a country with lower data protection standards than the EU. In this case, we will ensure that the relevant service provider guarantees an equivalent level of data protection by contract or otherwise.
7.3 Payment service providers and credit institutions
We offer different payment methods such as prepayment, credit card payment, PayPal payment and invoice payment. For this purpose, payment data may be transmitted to payment service providers with whom we work. You can find more detailed information on the processing of personal data by payment service providers in the privacy policy of the payment service provider:
7.4 Shipping Companies
(A) We work with external shipping companies (e.g. DHL or GLS) to deliver orders. These shipping companies receive the following data in order to fulfill the relevant orders:
(B) your name
(C) your shipping address
(D) your postal code (if applicable) (if you wish to have your order delivered to a DHL packing station)]

7.5 Authorities and Other Third Parties
If we are obliged to comply with an official or court decision, or for the purposes of prosecution, we will forward your data to prosecuting authorities or other third parties where necessary.
8. Retention and deletion of data
We will store your personal data for as long as necessary for the purposes specified in this privacy statement, in particular to fulfill our contractual and legal obligations. We may also store your personal data for other purposes if or insofar as we are permitted by law to store your personal data for specific purposes, including the defense against legal claims.
If you close your customer account, we will delete all data we have stored about you. If the complete deletion of your data is not possible or necessary for legal reasons, the data in question will be blocked for further processing. If data is blocked, technical and organizational measures will be used to ensure that only a limited number of employees have access to the relevant data, as required and only for specific purposes (e.g. in the event of a tax audit). For example, in the following cases:
(A) Your order and payment details and possibly other details are generally subject to various legal retention obligations, such as those in the Handelsgesetzbuch (HGB - Commercial Code) and the Abgabenordnung (AO - Tax Code). We are legally required to retain these data for tax audits and financial audits for up to ten years. Only then can we eventually delete the relevant data.
(B) Even if your data is not subject to any legal retention obligations, we may not delete it immediately but initially block it if permitted by law. This applies in particular in cases where we may need the relevant data for further contractual processing or for prosecution or legal defense (e.g. in the event of a complaint). The decisive criterion for the duration of the blocking is the statutory limitation period. After expiry of the relevant statute of limitations period, the data in question will finally be deleted.
If the data are anonymized or pseudonymized and the deletion would exclude or seriously hamper processing for scientific research or statistical purposes, the deletion may be waived insofar as legally permissible.

If you have given your consent to the processing of your data, you may revoke this consent at any time. 10.4 Objections in case of processing based on the balance of interests
(A) If we process your personal data on the basis of a balance of interests, you may object to the processing. This is the case if the processing is not necessary, in particular for the fulfillment of a contract with you, which we describe for each case in the following functional description. When raising such an objection, we ask you to explain the reasons why we should not process your personal data in the way it is currently being processed. If you raise an objection, we will review the situation and either stop or adjust the data processing or show you compelling legitimate reasons for us to continue processing.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority about our processing of your personal data.
